In true Leveragist fashion, I bring to you a guest post from my friend Fern Olivia to discuss a low-cost, high-yield way to support your thyroid health. Thyroid and adrenal health are of particular importance to me as I have bounced in and out of suboptimal Adrenal Analysis results. Whether you’re a typical hard-charging or fitness person or have dealt with any thyroid issues, this post will be relevant. Enjoy.
Shila-what? This powerful Ayurvedic herb you may never have heard of can regulate your thyroid in a pinch…literally!
Word on the street is that this radiant, energetic and vivacious woman is the “thyroid whisperer” and she’s helped hundreds of men and women to feel strong and sexy AF.
She even trains new practitioners and health crusaders in her signature Thyroid Yoga® training, available globally both live and online.
The #1 supplement or food that I’ve had the most success with in regulating my thyroid and healing from Hashimoto’s Hypothyroid Disease has been Shilajit.
Shilajit is an ancient Ayurvedic herb which was reputed to be brain food for Aristotle!
It is a plant-based mineral complex that is known to have 85+ micro-minerals and trace elements in an ionic and bioavailable form, and contains fulvic acid which helps to deliver the minerals to the body.
A strong detoxification agent, research has shown that it can dissolve thyroid nodules.
Here’s what Fern has to say…
I know it’s worked for me because I’ve lost weight after nothing else was working, I’m not craving sugar, my eyes are bright and the whites are really white, my skin complexion is glowing and more vibrant, and I’m full of energy in the morning!
All you need is a pinch, literally. It comes in a resin that you can put right under your tongue for the best absorption (you will get used to the bitter taste) or add to a smoothie for first-timers.
My go-to source is from Lotus Blooming Herbs – it’s by far the best quality I’ve ever found, and I’ve done my research!
The qualities of herbs taken with shilajit are even more potent due to the fulvic acid within shilajit. My favorite combination for thyroid and adrenal health is shilajit and ashwagandha. They are already superstars on their own so one could only expect the best with a shilajit ashwagandha combination. Both have thousands of years to back the claims and a community of Ayurvedic faithful to attest to their wondrous effects to human health. When blended, the ashwagandha shilajit benefits are multiplied – talk about bang for your buck.
For a start, they both boost brain power and I can attest that they may provide superhuman tendencies – like faster learning and an impressive memory. Although it is said to be a genetic disorder, people who are in danger of developing Alzheimer’s disease can do well with considering this blend to help against developing the disease early. When taken regularly, the brain will become healthier and stay that way for longer.
Shilajit and ashwagandha are both extremely effective with increasing energy, stamina, and gasp – have even better sex. I’ll invite you to experiment and report back.
Because of the double potency of the ashwagandha + shilajit combo, it is acceptable to be extra cautious when having combined substances, and if you are on medication or have a pre-existing condition, talk to your doctor, or find an Integrative Medical Practitioner or Ayurvedic MD who can guide you personally.
Like all good things in life, take your time and attune yourself gradually to the experience. Always choose quality!
